Gameplay details
This game is meant for players aged 18+. There will be instances of descriptive combat and spell effects on people. There will be cult rituals and dragon dismemberment. There will be death. How will character creation work
It is expected that the party aligns with a good moral outlook. You will all begin at level 1 and level up at specific game milestones throughout play. Races & Classes All official 5e races and species are permitted (PHB, XGE, TCE, etc.). All official 5e classes and subclasses are permitted (PHB, XGE, TCE, etc.). No homebrew races or classes for this play through We’ll aim for a diverse party of classes; no duplicates, please. Characters can multiclass starting at level 2. Stat Rolls We will do all rolling in person session 0. Options for rolling stats: Individually roll 4d6kh3 twice, reroll all 1s, and take the better result. Collectively roll 4d6kh3, reroll all 1s, and use the resulting array for everyone. Starting Feat As heroes, you may choose one feat to start with. Starting with a feat can significantly enhance your character’s abilities. Choose one that complements your class and play style. To Consider Assigning Stats Each player may choose where to apply their scores. Dexterity is the most valuable ability score in the game for melee types (Fighter, Rogue, etc.). To balance this, caster types (Sorcerer, Warlock, Wizard, Druid, etc.) may choose to base their spellcasting on INT, WIS, or CHA. The highest among your DEX, INT, WIS, or CHA can be applied to your initiative. Alignment Alignments are mainly reserved for creatures from the outer planes and those closely connected to them (e.g., paladins and clerics). Otherwise, alignment reflects where characters stand in the major struggle of the setting: good vs. evil is the primary axis, and lawful vs. chaotic is the secondary axis. This can suggest behavior, but isn't strictly prescriptive. For this campaign, characters are expected to be on the side of good, but are free to range the secondary axis. Wealth & Items Equip your character with all the items needed for an adventuring job, including the material components for your prepared spells. Roll 4d20 + 20 for starting gold.
